MAI
The Metals Affordability Initiative (MAI) is a consortium, managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), dedicated to reducing metallic aircraft component costs and accelerating component implementation. Bringing together competing companies that share this common goal, the consortium comprises original equipment manufacturers, component manufacturers, and metals producers, each of which is an important contributor in the aerospace metals supply chain and has achieved a tremendous record of technology transfer and cost-reduction impact.
